Matthew & Kristie Page
We are a Christian couple that is in love with spreading the gospel to children. We have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful daughters. At the age of 18 I joined the United States Army and Kristie served along side me as a stay at home military spouse which in my opinion is the hardest job in the world. We were both saved when we were younger and being in the military it was not one of our priorities to get involved in a church (it should have been). Kristie is a powerful women staying sane and in love with me even know I was pursing a career that kept me away from home. God was preparing us to serve in a way we never expected. I chased everything the Army had to offer from jumping out of airplanes and going to war but if you were to ask my wife she would tell that I still did not feel fulfilled. On top of all of that she was at home having to take care of everything by herself. Early on in our marriage when I would complain about my job Kristie would say well what is it you want to do? I could tell her that I felt a call towards youth ministry or something like that which I didn’t share with anyone. Kristie has always been the sound decision maker in our home and keeps the family balanced. After about 5 years of marriage and a few church’s that we would visit on occasion we started visiting a church called Petsworth Baptist Church. We were regulars but never felt the call to join. There was a man that came up to us on our last Sunday at that church who said wherever you go next get involved, this comment stuck with me. Next, I received orders for army recruiting which got us excited about the possibility of moving back home. God was leading us to a small town in Florida called Bryceville which is 30 minutes from our home town. The first church we visited was the most loving and caring church we have ever stepped foot in. After a few months we became member’s and immediately started serving with anything God would allow us to. After serving an 11 year career in the United States Army we currently serve as children’s directors for Lighthouse Baptist Church in Florida and I am pursuing God’s will for our lives by attending graduate school at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kristie currently is very involved with the Good News Club at our local elementary school and serves as a substitute teacher as well.
